One of my favorite things in life is the opportunity to grow and learn through traveling! I have traveled to 15 different countries and had the privilege of living in the Middle East for two years. During my time in the Middle East, I learned a great deal about the culture, made lifelong friends, and became partially fluent in the Levantine dialect of Arabic. While I am not currently able to offer sessions fully in Arabic, this is a goal that I am currently working towards.
When I’m not traveling, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, friends, and my Chocolate Labrador Retriever. I am a major foodie and a fan of local and international cuisine! Outside of therapy, you might find me taking my dog to the park or exploring local restaurants and shops.
I am currently in-network with HealthChoice insurance. When booking please make sure to mention this to our Admin. If I don’t accept your insurance but you would like to book a session with me, I am able to provide superbills upon request that can be filed with your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

I’ve guided over 200+ women to gain the clarity and confidence to get unstuck
I have experience treating individuals, couples, families, teens, and children with issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, mood-related disorders, body image issues, postpartum depression, abuse, trauma, and relational conflict.
I have worked in not-for-profit settings with individuals, couples and families, and in community mental health.
Prior to practicing therapy, I worked as a case manager in Refugee Resettlement through which I developed cultural competency through my work with families from all over the world.
I have a specific passion for working with individuals recovering from religious trauma; and I have training in this area.
“Leslie is a compassionate and knowledgeable therapist. Her dedication to helping women work through past pain and improve their lives is truly admirable. “

Starting therapy can feel stressful and overwhelming. It can be hard to open up to someone that you don’t know. Life can take many unexpected turns and we need a space to process life’s challenges.
I utilize an individualistic approach that focuses on using evidenced-based and goal-oriented treatment. I have a great passion for guiding individuals towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
In my counseling practice, I firmly believe that each person's experience is unique, and I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings openly. My approach to therapy is collaborative, as I work hand-in-hand with my clients to understand their goals, strengths, and challenges.
I am in-network with HealthChoice and Aetna and for my out-of-network clients I am happy to provide a superbill which is a detailed receipt of services received that can then be filed for possible reimbursement with your insurance provider.

If you are not covered by one of the listed providers for the state you reside in we are still able to help by providing superbills upon your request that can then be submitted to your healthcare provider for possible reimbursement. Please note that in order for your insurance company to apply the superbill towards your out-of-network benefits a mental health diagnosis must be listed on the superbill. For the most accurate information on reimbursement you can reach out to your healthcare provider’s member services and ask them about the service you intend to receive and if it will qualify for reimbursement. They should be able to provide you with exact information on how much will qualify for reimbursement, how much you can expect to pay, and the steps needed to file.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us and we would be happy to help.

While I specialize in working with women, I understand that gender is a social construct. I am more than capable and happy to work with people of all genders including but not limited to cis-men, trans-men, and non-binary, genderqueer, and gender-questioning persons. All are welcome at Waves!

Research is very clear that the effectiveness of therapy greatly depends upon whether or not clients feel connected with their therapist. So, I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone call. If you don’t feel comfortable with me either after the phone call or after 1 or 2 sessions, know that this happens sometimes. Please let me know and they will help you get connected with another therapist that will be a better fit for your personality and your therapeutic goals.
